Esta lámina está dedicada al gran cineasta Georges Méliès y su obra "Viaje a la Luna".

Es la primera vez que uso la técnica rascable; que consiste en dibujar en negativo rascando en un papel negro con un bisturí. Descubrí esta ténica en artistas como Ricardo Martinez o Hannes Binder.

Me gusta y pienso hacer más ilustraciones con eso en un futuro próximo.


This sheet is dedicated the greatest filmmaker Georges Méliès and his masterpiece "A Trip to the Moon".

It´s the fist time that I use the scratchboard technique; that consist of drawing on negative scratching  on a black paper with a bistoury. I discovered this technique artists like Ricardo Martinez or Hannes Binder.

I like it and I will do more illustrations with that in the near future.

M SASEK

Hoy se cumple 100 años del nacimiento del ilustrador checo Miroslav Sasek,
Descubrí a ésta persona en una exposición en el interior de El Puente de Londres hace pocos años.

Cuando vi sus proyectos, me quedé fascinado por sus técnicas y la forma de ver el mundo que le hizo único.
Desde allí encontré libros suyos como "Esto es Roma", "Esto es París", "Esto es Londres", ect.


Como tributo, realicé una ilustración (en la parte superior) sobre la estatua de El Conde Ansurez de la Plaza Mayor de Valladolid, basándome en su estilo.

Para aquellos que no saben quién es Sasek,  os demuestro unos ejemplos en la parte de abajo.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the czech illustrator Miroslav Sasek.
Few years ago I discovered this man in a exhibition inside of the London Bridge.

When  I was his proyects, I was fascinated by his techniques and the way to see the world that made him unique.
I found some of his books since there, like "This is Rome", "This is Paris", "This is London", etc.

As tribute, I made an illustration (on top), based on  his style, about The Count Ansurez estatue from The Valladolid Main Square.

For somebody who doesn´t know who sasek is, I show you some examples in the bottom.
